Please reply if you prefer the posts to be like they are now (not bumping the newest reply to the top) or if you prefer to the posts to bump to the top when they get a reply.

We're learning a lot of new tricks here, I like how the old board treated bumps - put the latest response at the bottom of the thread, but put new threads at the top of the list.

I probably prefer the bump because I don't feel like I'll forget about something.

Fan of the bumping too!

I often preferred boards that bump but had gotten used to the format of this board - threaded and not bumping. One situation I can foresee with a bumping board is members feeling slighted if their posts drop down too quickly from no one responding.

Other than that - I can go either way (so I guess I'm really a non-voter here). But I did want to point out the possibility of people becoming upset (I'm sure someone else probably thought of that too.)

I am with you Jeanne. I like the bump, but also felt like some might feel neglected if their post go unnoticed. I guess that makes me a non-voter too. I'll go with whatever the majority decides.

A little history on the "not bumping"... I had set it up to not bump when we were at our busiest and often getting about 40 new threads a day. Bumping meant that your post could fall off the board very very quickly.

I personally perfer not bumping as I have set my preferences up to just read one message at a time (instead of the whole thread) and then I can easily see what I have read by looking at the "new". It also gives me an idea of what order things were posted in which sometimes is important.

Having said that, I can function with it either way.

I'm not a fan of bumping. I often just have a minute or two to scan for new posts -- that's harder when older posts with new replies get sent to the top of the pile. I have no sense of "everything after this post I've already seen".

We like the bumping here. I'm always losing threads.

I like bumping, that way you can answer a really old post and it will come back up to the top rather than getting lost.

I like how the old board was (yeah, I am stuck in a changeless world, bwahahaha) where the latest post would always be on top and then the replies organized beneath them in first to last order.

But of course I will go with the flow.
